Frequently asked questions

Things you may want to know before booking.

The answers are kept straightforward. You can also call if something is not covered here.

Do I need to be good with technology already?

No. The workshops are specifically intended to be comfortable for people who do not use technology confidently.

What can I bring?

A phone, tablet or laptop. You can bring more than one device, although concentrating on one main problem often makes the session more useful.

What sort of problem can I ask about?

Everyday problems such as settings, email, photographs, passwords, online safety, video calls, apps, storage, updates and understanding how your device works.

How many people attend?

A maximum of six people attend each workshop.

Where are the workshops?

In a real home setting in Alwoodley, Leeds. The exact address and arrival details are supplied after booking.

Can I pay when I arrive?

Yes. Choose “Reserve · Pay on arrival” and your place will be held without an online payment.

Do I need an email address?

No. A telephone number is enough for a pay-on-arrival reservation. You can also book by calling or texting.

Can I cancel or move my booking?

Yes. The connected booking system will provide a private link allowing you to cancel or move your place. At least 24 hours' notice qualifies for a full refund.

Is this a repair service?

The main service is learning and practical help. Some problems may reveal a hardware fault that needs a repair specialist, and that will be explained honestly.

Will home visits be available?

They may be offered later for technology that cannot easily be brought to a workshop, such as Wi-Fi, printers and smart televisions.
